Health and safety performance - employees

The Total Injury Frequency Rate (TIFR) for employees decreased by 35%, from 2.6 to 1.7 in FY21. The Occupational Injury Frequency Rate (OIFR) decreased from 1.2 to 0.5 due to improved focus on return to work and rehabilitation management activities.

Notes

  • TIFR: number of Lost Time and Medical Treatment Injuries classified as TIFR-related in a 12 month rolling period, per million hours worked in that 12 month period.

  • OIFR: number of Lost Time and Medical Treatment Injuries classified as OIFR-related in a 12 month rolling period, per million hours worked in that 12 month period.

  • LTIFR: number of Lost Time Injuries classified as both TIFR and OIFR in a 12 month rolling period, per million hours worked in that 12 month period.

  • LTIFR include all incidents, not just those resulting in a Workers Compensation claim.

  • Data relates to AGL Energy employees only (fixed term full-time, fixed term part-time, permanent full-time, and permanent part-time).

  • The number of hours worked in FY21 used as a basis for calculating TIFR, LTIFR, and OIFR was 7,758,624 hours (FY20: 7,413,895 hours).

  • The safety performance of Southern Phone Company and Perth Energy (both acquired during FY20) is included from FY21.

  • Click Energy, Epho and Solgen (acquired during FY21) are included in FY21 data.
